They Lost Another Faithful Customer - Phone Vent Mount Critique

By Tyler Lewis

Looking forward to trying them! The only downside I can think of is that when you push the little button to release your phone, the shock of the springs releasing the 2 arms that hold the phone in position seem to be so forceful that I worry they might break at some point in the future. I would replace it with the same unit if it failed. AC clips don't work all that great in the Ford Focus, but that's okay. If you want a window or dash mount, this product is perfectly fine.

The vent mount swivels nicely to allow for a good viewing angle while attached to either the driver's side or passenger's side central vents of my cars. I have not tried the windshield mount. I like the fact that I get both a vent and windshield mount for one low price. I use this every day for both my Droid X and my Zune. This works well for the iPhone 4 in my BMW e46 vent. It's easy to install.

I will update my review as the weeks go by to see how it holds up, but so far so good. It actually makes driving a little bit more enjoyable. So that makes it useless for ANY of the purposes for which it is sold. I am close to giving up on any vent mount due to all the problems they have.

It won't mount at all in some cars I've tried at all due to vent design, and all others pretty much have the same issue. Also, the vent pretty much has to point straight out at you, if it's pointed up too much it's no good.

I did find the lock/unlock button to be a little hard to get to, - BUT - the smaller padded arms on the mount can be REMOVED (easily) and put back on - which I think would solve my problem (I could remove just one). I'd recommend this mount :) I recently used this on a long trip to hold my phone while it displayed navigation info and also while it was playing music.

I use it dash mounted. It holds my iPhone 4 perfectly! As a result I did not feel comfortable using it for my phone. The suction cup mount works perfectly and has two adjustment points that can be tightened up so your phone position will not move. I chose to use the vent mounts in my 2007 Toyota Tundra. I did add 4 pieces of rubber tubing on the clips to make them more "grippy", since plastic on plastic tends to slide around. It's a very solid mount. It's a great purchase for me. I can't rate the windshield mount since I haven't used it. I first am trying the vent mount, and it works great on a 2008 Civic.
