By Jace Brown

You just got a cell phone and it's pretty sweet, however you already noticed your screen scratching up. You know what you need to do get a screen protector. So out of all the screen protectors on the market which one is the best? In this article we will dive into that question and help you concisely decide which one is right for you. You may be surprised by the answer.

For the most part there are only 3 types of protectors and that is all. Although there are many different companies selling protectors, it boils down to the basic 3. The main types are: Vinyl Static Cling, Polyurethane, and PET. Each one has its pros and cons and one may be right for one person and another may hate that type, so it is improtant to choose the right one. They vary widely in price so it is important to choose the right one, here are the differences:

PET is made from a hard plastic, this type of protector is very thin and feels more like the phones actual screen. This can be very good for touch screens since you can easily drag your finger along it without a hitch. PET is also generally applied dry, so installation is quite easy. PET covers are also washable and reusable. The drawbacks of PET Screen Protectors are that they are the easiest to scratch and scuff. BEST BRAND: EZguardZ-HD.

Vinyl Static Cling- The value line of screen protectors, generally inexpensive but they do not last long. They generally have good optical clarity but can come off after a while. BEST BRAND: EZguardZ

Polyurethane is often the most expensive because it has the best adhesive and is made out of the highest quality of plastic. These types of screen protectors can last years and are super scratch resistant. They may even out last your phone. You do have to install them wet because the adhesive is so strong and otherwise the finish will not be very good. The brand we recommend most for Polyurethane type protectors is Xtreme Guard, they have shown to be the best value.
