Cable TV 101: Building Relationships To Your Customers

By Darlene Jover

If you know about building relationships with one another, you can apply it to any business you want. But first, let's talk about getting to know your customer. When you started a niche business of your own like cable TV, you need to know who are your customers. You must know what the customers want, and why do they need it? For instance, cable TV is applicable to all types of customers because it is quite a perfect home entertainment source. The purpose of cable television to customers is to let them enjoy watching their favorite shows anytime they want.

If they want their rooms to be cool and comfortable, they need a huge fan or an evaporated air-conditioner which are included in the appliance section. But what about the cable TV providers? What are the common needs of the customers for this kind of business? One of the most common things that a cable TV subscriber need are the number of channels provided by your company. As the owner of a cable TV station, you must know what are the things that may attract the customer to buy your exclusive offers.

The number of channels provided by your cable or satellite TV company really matters for a subscriber like you. When you are just sticking to an antenna TV, it will only give you limited channels from your antenna's limited signal. On the other hand, cable TV providers will give you as many channels you want to watch. But it really depends on what package did you choose to subscribe for cable television for good. For basic or starter packages, you may expect that the number of channels will be from 30 to 40.

Multiple offers are simply giving attraction to its customers by choosing one of them. Another way to attract the cable television customers is through customer service performance. When we speak of the customer service for any business like cable or satellite TV, it deals with answering or entertaining inquiries or questions from the customer. But not all of the answers are guaranteed when a customer service employee replied to the customer's inquiry. There are times when they cannot answer the question or complaint from a customer, they might ask assistance from a higher position employee like the supervisor or manager.

This is where they build relationships to one another, and it's really important. When it comes to business firms like this, we need to focus first on the customer's needs and wants. It means that we must build our relationships to them before thinking of making profits or returns to our investments. Every relevant customer in any business is the lifeline of every business like cable television, and it is the reason that the business or service would be profitable or not. If we think of profits first before building our trust and relationships to our customers, then our business won't last long. The customers are the ones who will subscribe to a cable television package by paying through credit card, direct approach or any payment processor. But if we're about to show their trust to us and to improve their relationships, we must be passionate about the cable TV business first before we get profits. This is where we maintain rapport to our subscribers, and we must always be alert on their needs and wants for a business like cable and satellite TV providers.
