Options For Guaranteed Mobile Phone Contracts

By Joanna Humphreys

Prepaid mobile phone plans can be more expensive than a mobile contract many times. Some people use the prepaid ones because they do not have the credit to be able to get a contract phone. There are ways to get guaranteed mobile phone contracts without good credit though.

If you have ever gone into a store that sells these cell phones and tried to get one of them, you may have been turned down in the past. They may have told you that if you give them a certain amount of money up front, they can give you a contract. This amount could be something that most people cannot afford to let them hold onto.

This money will be held with stipulations to make sure that you are paying that bill. Most of the time it will be held for a year or more and any late payment that is made will cause you to lose all of that money. The majority of people are not going to use this to get a mobile phone for themselves.

When you have proven that you are able to pay the bill on time each time, a check can be mailed or the collateral will be applied to your bill leaving you will a large balance that they owe you so that you do not have to worry about paying your bill for several months. If a bill gets paid late one time, you may not see that money.

Another way to get on a contract plan is to ask a friend if you can be added to their account if you pay your bill each month. The only problem with this is that you will not be building any type of credit for yourself. You may still get a free phone with your contract too.

Many of the companies that have the prepaid cell phones that you can buy in department stores and gas stations are now offering contracts when you buy their products as well. These do not include all of the fancy features that some of the bigger companies are offering. Some of these are much cheaper than paying for the bigger names anyways.

You may only have a certain amount of minutes or text messages each month. It is important to choose your package wisely and know approximately how much you will be using your phone. A lot of times when you go over on the minutes or texts, they will be outrageously priced for the ones that are over.

Sometimes it is easier to choose a bigger package at first. Make sure that you can change this later on if you need to. This allows you to adjust your package to your needs. Some of these will report this as a contract phone for your credit even though you can get out of it at anytime. These will have the most important features that any cell user needs, such as caller id, text messaging and voice mail.
