Having DIY iPhone Ringtones

Our mobile phones have been the primary way for us to indulge in our human nature of gregariousness. As such, we perceive them to be a crucial part of our lives and personalize it fit our character which is what we the do to our iPhone ringtones.

The very first reason that makes people opt for free iPhone ringtones is that they won't need to pay to have ringtones that are professionally made. A lot of people also don't have the idea how to make their own ringtones. And so the availability of free iPhone ringtones is a great help for them.

IPhone ringtones would be quite hard to come by if you do not get it through iTunes. Nonetheless, you could still spreads yourself by one other way of creating your own ringtones. All you need to have is the iTunes software installed on your PC and a few of your favored music in mp3 format.

*Step 1 - Run iTunes by double clicking on its icon on your PC's desktop.

* Step 2 - Decide on which one song among your favorites you want to use for your ringtone.

* Step 3 - Now, listen to the song being played and decide on what part of it would best fot as a ringtone.

* Step 4 - Next, mark down the start point and the end point of your chosen section of your favorite song.

* Step 5 - While the song is selected, right-click and select "Get Info" on the menu that appears.

* Step 6 - Next, you need to select the "Options" tab.

* Step 7 - Next to the "start time", type in the starting point of your ring tone in the box. It will be in minutes:seconds (i.e. 2:01) format.

* Step 8 - - Once you have specified the starting point, input also the end point of the ring tone you want. Check and make sure that your ring tone is not more than 40 seconds in length.

* Step 9 - Click "OK" next.

* Step 10 - Right-click your song again and select "Convert Selection to AAC" on the menu that appears. Your song will be converted and you will have to wait for iTunes to finish.A new, duplicate version will be created.

* Step 11 - Delete the ringtone by right-clicking it and choosing "Delete."

* Step 12 - Select the "Keep Files" button next.

* Step 13 - Locate the file which would most probably be in the User folder under Music > iTunes > iTunes Music and stored under the band's name with an extension of "m4a."

* Step 14 - Rename the "m4a" extension of your ringtone with "m4r". There are various ways to rename the file. Either you double-click it slowly to rename, or you can also right-click and select "Get Info" on a Mac or "Rename" on a Windows PC.

* Step 15 - Choose "Use .m4r" or the equivalent message that may appear on your screen as it warns you before it changes the file.

* Step 16 - Click the ringtone file a couple of times.The new ringtone will add the new ringtone to your iTunes Music Library folder.

* Step 17 - You need to connect your iPhone and sync your ringtones.

Viola! You have just successfully created your personal ringtone that is unique only to your iPhone! You can do it again!
