Satellite Internet Service - Much Better Than Ever

By Carl Langlois

Satellite internet service is here to stay and it's better than ever. Whether you live in rural America or a very remote region, or spend lots of time on the road in your RV, with satellite internet, you won't have to do without high speed internet.

The fact that fast internet has not been available for millions of people living in the country has been more than annoying. In today's world, not having access to broadband can leave you at a serious disadvantage. Well, government has decided to level the playing field and want everyone in the continental U.S to have access to high speed internet.

But even so, it's clear that small rural communities or remote regions will not be getting Cable internet or DSL. The cost of providing the infrastructure needed to provide these services is too great. And it would take too long with a small customer base to get back their investment and start to turn a profit.

Even phone companies are reluctant to upgrade their lines just so high speed access is available.

But there is a way to have broadband no matter how far outside of an urban area you live. Satellite internet is available for remote locations and rural locations. So if you're tired of slow dial-up internet and want fast internet, now you can have it.

If you enjoy the RV life, doing without the internet can be a problem.

You may find that mobile internet, although easy to access, is still too limited; and too expensive if you use it for much more than emailing or web surfing. WiFi locations are not always easy to find on the road. Having access to broadband at a mobile home park can bump up the cost of staying, considerably. For these reasons, RV satellite internet may be a much better option.

Without a doubt, satellite internet was not great when it first arrived a number of years ago. The service was plagued with difficulties.

Service disruptions were common when the weather was poor. Latency was an issue to the point where you could not reliably do anything in real time because there was always a delay. So forget playing any games online or trying to secure a bid in the final moments of an online auction.

Then there was the pricing. It was very high when you compared it to other broadband services, especially when you factored in the limit in the amount of data that could be downloaded. Speeds were faster than dial-up but nowhere near DSL or Cable.

Yes, there are still some drawbacks. The cost is higher than DSL or Cable and the amount of data that can be downloaded is limited compared to other broadband services. But it is high speed, and you can do so much more than you can with dial up.

If you used satellite in the past, and weren't happy with the service, you're in for a pleasant surprise. Satellite broadband is a whole lot better these days. As the demand for high speed internet has grown, satellite internet providers have improved the service greatly.

Outages are rare even during poor weather conditions. With more satellites deployed, the ISPs can hook customers up to different satellites to provide optimum performance. This makes a huge difference in terms of speed and even latency. With today's satellite service, you can even use VOIP. This was not possible previously.

The majority of Americans, in both rural and remote areas can now get a satellite internet service. And when you're on the road, you no longer have to leave your high speed internet at home . Now you can travel and still be connected with a satellite broadband service.
